Trust me, I know more than you do. This is for moms:
While you're complaining about your stretch marks, I'm looking at my still flat(ish) stomach just willing it to stretch to support a growing bundle of joy.
While you're talking about sleepless nights up with little ones, I'm waking refreshed...and walk down my hallway, past a room with an empty crib.
While you're wishing your kids would pick up after themselves, I'm looking at my perfectly organized playroom. With its untouched toys.
While you're facing mounds of laundry you feel you'll never conquer, I continue to pull full-sized clothing out of my washer, just wishing I had reason to need to do more loads.
While you watch Frozen for the umpteenth time, I flip past Noggin and keep going...and it hurts.
When you talk about your pregnancy/birth stories and all you wish you'd done/had differently, I long to have any pregnancy or birth story at all.
And every time you look at me and tell me I'll change my mind when I have kids, or to be glad I have all this time with my husband, or to just wait til I have to deal with a screaming toddler in the middle of Target...I just hope to get the chance to prove you right someday.
Please don't misunderstand my point. I have an amazing, gentle, loving husband, with whom I am blessed to spend the rest of my life. And I do not take that for granted. I know so many people want so badly to find their perfect mate, or to be happy in their marriage. I only wanted to remind you to be grateful for everything about your current situation. There is always someone who would do anything to be in your shoes. Sometimes it helps to be reminded of that.
